BACKGROUND

Trained from early childhood by my father, Ian Polster, and others, I am equally adept at jazz and rock drumming.

MUSIC EDUCATION

PROFESSIONAL/FREELANCE EXPERIENCE

For pit orchestra gigs, I’d routinely cover all drum and percussion parts (or “books”) that, otherwise, called for two to four players.  I routinely played timpani, xylophone, or trap percussion parts with my hands while keeping a beat going with my feet.  I didn’t know it at the time that this was a very unusual way of covering drums/percussion parts.

These are the musicals I played:

      • Carousel
      • South Pacific
      • Sound of Music
      • King and I
      • Fiddler on the Roof
      • West Side Story
      • Cabaret
      • Into The Woods
      • Pippin
      • Totally Modern Millie
      • Seusical the Musical
      • Damn Yankees
      • Oklahoma
      • Guys and Dolls
      • A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
      • Bye, Bye, Birdy
      • A Little Night Music
      • Little Shop of Horrors
      • 1776
    • 42nd Street
